MIRAGE

Like a tiny drop in the ocean,

Me amongst a myriad of mounts;

Not a stir or feathered motion

But some muttered in counts,

Dapering shadows of dune;

A sudden sandstorm fume

Blazes the air with furore,

As if a race destroyed before;

And then a deafening silence,

Just as the one in penitence.

Vast expanse of space

Above, hold a mystical lace.

And in the midst

Of a golden mist,

The farthest myopia marvel

At a spectacular survival;

A Castle of Rest!

Surrounded by green shade,

With a fountain of zest –

A mesmerizing façade;

Desolate hope sings in a daze,

As my feet run unfazed;

But alas! The vision fades.

And a pair of hands,

Land into empty sands.
